چکیده

The chemical–physical hybrid cross-linked double network gel poly (acrylamide-co-acrylic acid)/Sodium alginate/Fe3+ (P(AM-co-AA)/SA/Fe3+, simplified as P-gel) was synthesised by free radical polymerisation combined with hydrogen bonding and ion coordination, which in turn compounded styrene–butadiene-styrene (SBS) to prepare P-gel gel/SBS modified asphalt. FT-IR, UV, XRD SEM analyses confirmed the successful synthesis of P-gel. FM analysis revealed that volume increased after long-term aging physical, Dynamic Shear Rheometer (DSR), multi-stress creep recovery (MSCR), time sweep tests showed addition improved road performance SBS At a amount 5%, high-temperature grade (PG high temperature) asphalt from PG70 PG76 rate (64 oC) 17.08% 41.13% at stress 0.1 3.2 kPa, respectively. underlying mechanism behind these improvements mechanical properties composite different competitive relationship between ‘softening’ effect ‘strengthening’ itself temperatures. This project provides an alternative strategy for preparing enhanced applications highway construction industries.

Rheological Properties and Chemical Bonding of Asphalt Modified with Nanosilica

The objective of this study is to evaluate the rheological properties and chemical bonding of nano-modified asphalt binders blended with nanosilica. In this study, the nanosilica was added to the control asphalt at contents of 4% and 6% based on the weight of asphalt binders. Superpave binder and mixture tests were utilized in this study to estimate the characteristics of the nano-modifed aspha...

The influence of physical and chemical factors on the preparation of silica gel media.

The need of an inorganic gel for the preparation of microbiological media arises frequently in nutritional studies. The isolation of fastidious microorganisms, such as the nitrifying bacteria, may be facilitated by the use of solid media prepared with silica gel rather than with agar. Until recently, the procedures available for the preparation of silica gel were time-consuming and inconsistent...

Application of SCB Test and Surface Free Energy Method in Evaluating Crack Resistance of SBS Modified Asphalt Mixes

Cohesion properties of the binder matrix within asphalt mixes and adhesion characteristics of the asphalt binder and aggregate particles are the two major mechanisms resisting against cracking in asphalt mixes. This study is focused on estimating crack resistance of asphalt mixes at intermediate temperatures through evaluation of cohesion and adhesion properties of binder-aggregate systems usin...
